The Heelers are staying put!

The biggest Bluey episode ever aired on Sunday morning centred on the Heelers home selling right in the thick of a family wedding.

Throughout the 28 minute episode, titled ‘The Sign’, the audience is left wondering will Chilli and Bandit sell the house or won’t they, as Bluey fights the seemingly inevitable move to “another city” for Bandit’s work.

It looks like all hope is lost when real estate agent Bucky Dunstan slaps a ‘sold’ sticker on the for sale sign Bluey has spent most of the episode trying to get rid of.

But through a twist of fate – courtesy of Muffin – the buyers find an even better house.

Bandit receives the news from Bucky as the Heelers are about to pull out of their driveway for the last time.

It’s the sign the family has been waiting for.

The moment quickly shifts from “biscuits” to “whackadoo” and the episode ends with the family right where fans want them to be – in their character-filled Queenslander.

Fans were quick to leave feedback on the show’s Facebook page.

Melissa Rieck called it a “brilliant episode” and Kashel McDermott wrote “you had me on the edge of my seat till the very end.”

“I cried like a baby at the end! This episode created such a beautiful rollercoaster of emotions,” Jade Owens said.

Michael Toon, the man behind the @bluey_locations Instagram account, said he was relieved Bluey and Bingo weren’t saying goodbye to Brisbane, but he wasn’t surprised as the show was “a love letter to the river city”.

“One of my favourite things about the show is the way it make me feel living in Brisbane, it’s so familiar,” he said.

Dr Toon said the episode went the way he thought it would.

“I didn’t think they’d move, but the creators managed the episode very cleverly,” he said.

Dr Toon said ‘The Sign’ solidified the house as a character in the hit show.

“The creators give all the characters a backstory and now they’ve given the house its own narrative,” he said.

“There were memories associated with the house – Chilli says (in ‘The Sign’) it’s where Bluey took her first steps – but now they’ve had the wedding there, the family memories associated with the house have gone up a notch.

“The last scene of the house was breathtaking.”

Real estate agent Nick Penklis of Space Property said the Heelers not selling was “the best news ever”.

“What they have is irreplaceable and they finally realised that when the contract fell through,” he said.

“Irrespective of what price they get, there is a lot of emotion tied into a home.

“That’s just not replaceable.”

Mr. Penklis said he wasn’t surprised the Heelers decided to stay as their Queenslander was pretty close to the prefect Brisbane family home – though certain dogs may argue it was lacking in the pool department.

“They’re lucky it didn’t go to auction because if a buyer bought it at auction, it’s sold,” he said.

“Private treaty worked out well for Bluey.”
