Tenant Air Conditioner Checklist

With Summer very quickly approaching, it is time to dust of the air-conditioner ready for some serious use!

Whilst they are a great way to keep the beat the Brisbane heat, they have filters that need to be cleaned every few months to ensure that their air is safe and clean.

We strongly suggest to all tenants to regularly check their air conditioners and complete the following:

» FILTERS.  Simply lift the front of your air-conditioner(s) and gently slide out the filters. Give the filter a quick vacuum to dislodge any dust then clean them in your sink with a bit of dishwashing liquid and leave to dry completely (DO NOT install wet). Replace once dry.

» UNIT.  Using a dry cloth wipe down the face of the unit, dust the front vents, and wipe down the remote controller.

» HEAT.  Turn Air Conditioner onto heating and run through various fan speeds and temperature settings for 30 minutes. It is important to run it for this period of time to have the system cycle through.

» COOL.  Turn Air Conditioner onto Cooling and run through various speeds and temperature for 30 minutes. It is important to run it for this period of time to have the system cycle through.

» MOULD.  Report any mould build up or issues you are having as soon as possible.

During peak periods, repairs can take between three to four weeks so completing the above may avoid the inconvenience of having your air conditioners fail during the middle of summer.
